A collection of various Virus sounds for OS2.52 or later, by Howard Scarr
(hscarr@web.de - www.hscarr.de should be up and running this year)

----------------

The files are not bank-dumps, they are in my favorite "one-sound-per-bar" format. This allows you to check out each sound before overwriting anything:

1. load/import HS.MID into your sequencer

2. Important: Make sure you have set the correct MIDI output port and channel, that you can send sysex over this channel, that you are not sending MIDI clock or timecode (otherwise the patches will sound wrong when the arpeggiator is syncing!) and that you are not *receiving* sysex (just in case).

4. Set playback to a slow speed (30 bpm will let you check out sounds without stopping the sequencer)

5. Play away, and save the ones you like.

----------------

Notes:

a) Many of these patches are dynamic and use MW and PB, some use AT and Sustain, a few use FC.
b) Tweak away. I sometimes set DEFINABLE 2 to an important parameter (e.g. in "ClayPot").
c) Some of these sounds were used for OS3 "factory" sounds (Virus b/kb) - I might have changed some names.
d) The second sound is the Access helicopter - by popular request ;-)
e) The last sound - Planetar - is a vocoder patch.
f) No disclaimer - but please don't *sell* any of these sounds

Let me know which ones you particularly like

Cheers
